Starting a Blog – Part 1

First off, starting a blog is hard.

I may be considered by some slightly impulsive, impatient, and I’ll admit to demanding a certain amount of instant satisfaction when it comes to pursuing a new idea. It’s still hard.

Long story short (because whining is an Olympic sport for me), I’ve started! And the first step is the hardest, right?

In an age when everybody and their dog has their own blog (Google it, I’ll bet you’ll find one 😉 it’s hard to stand out. Find a niche. This is typically in the top three recommendations when it comes to blogging.

What if I don’t want just ONE niche? I want ALL THE NICHES!

My interests can’t be boiled down to just DIY-ing, or just sewing, or just parenting, or reselling, or reading, or fitness, or pet parenting, or or or or OR OR OR…… Whew! Sorry, lost myself there for a second. But you get my point, right?

So, in one last (haha, yeah right) grand act of hobby collecting, I’m taking my grubby little pile of unfinished business and ideas and projects digital. As a creative who also happens to be a mom, a wife, and a 9-5er, this is a big step. An important act of self-care and accountability. A digital journal to process and track my progress, but also, to delve into a community! Which is you!

In part 2 of this (coming soon!), I will get into the mushy side of why I’m starting this blog. So make sure to keep an eye out and be ready to feel some feels.

Welcome to the Den 🙂 – Nikki
